A Brilliant LED Lighting innovation on Premier Mounts Convergent Video Wall Mount

Premier Mounts offers cutting-edge direct view solutions for industry-leading brands such as Samsung, LG, Absen, Barco, Planar, Unilumin, and EZ LED. Explore their offerings here. Our goal was to enhance their Convergent Direct View LED mount platform by incorporating Blizzard Lighting’s commercial LED fixtures into the mix.

Our Objective

We aimed to integrate a commercial LED fixture with a beautiful diffusion lens into the Convergent Direct View LED mount. The challenge was to ensure the fixture’s full visibility to maximize its intensity and aesthetic while maintaining ease of installation and long-term serviceability.

Design Rationale

• Adaptability: The design needed to accommodate LED fixtures of varying depths and widths.
• Standardization: Installation of the fixture channel had to be standardized for easy field modifications.
• Serviceability: Ample room was required for a service loop and a 5-pin connector, ensuring accessibility in the mount’s corners.
• Corner Flexibility: The design had to allow for maximum usable dimensions while accommodating the limited bending radius of most commercial LED fixtures at corners.

The Process

Working closely with Gamber Johnson’s engineering department, we reviewed progress by immersing ourselves in their 3D design files. This approach ensured our specifications were seamlessly integrated into the new mount variation. A critical aspect of the design was meeting ADA compliance by keeping the total depth under 4 inches from the wall. While their original mount already adhered to this requirement, integrating the fixture required meticulous adjustments to fit everything into this constrained space.

We also needed to support multiple fixture depths and widths. By sharing a variety of fixture specifications with Gamber Johnson, they developed a flexible channel design that supported both shallow and deep fixtures without modifying the mount.

To streamline installation, we pre-assembled the channels, using clamps to secure them while drilling mounting holes. Standard nuts served as spacers to ensure the channels were distributed evenly, preventing bending during fixture installation. The result? Fixtures aligned perfectly with the edge of the cladding and installed effortlessly.

Challenges & Solutions

Despite careful planning, we encountered minor issues, such as needing to adjust corners with a grinder to accommodate 5-pin connectors. We provided this feedback to Gamber Johnson, and future products now include these corner modifications.
