When NTC approached us to design combinable rooms and a surgical training room with a Microsoft Teams-style experience, we knew our Brand-Aware Extended Control™ solution was the perfect fit. By leveraging Q-SYS encoders and decoders, we delivered a seamless, Teams Room-like environment with the added advantage of being platform-agnostic. Our user-focused approach recreates the intuitive telepresence experience, combining a front-of-room setup with the familiar Microsoft Teams interface accessible directly on the desktop touch panel. The result is a system that feels both natural and highly functional, tailored to meet the diverse needs of NTC.

Northcentral Technical College sought an audiovisual partner to elevate their Q-SYS platform beyond the ordinary. They needed a solution that could seamlessly integrate a Microsoft Teams experience on the in-room PC with intuitive control for hybrid combinable classrooms and meeting spaces. The design had to eliminate redundancy while remaining scalable for future expansion into similar rooms.
For the surgical training room, they required the same intuitive experience but with a unique feature: the ability to share cameras with students without complicating the touch panel interface. By leveraging AI in our scripting, we introduced a single “Resume Presentation” button, allowing instructors to return to their previous source combination effortlessly.
Additionally, we used the lectern encoder to display room instructions directly on the touch panel when the room is idle, eliminating outdated laminated instruction cards. This approach not only streamlines the user experience but also enables remote updates as room capabilities evolve.
